Working Paper Series
The EUROSTUDENT Working Paper Series offers a platform for researchers to share early-stage work analyzing data collected through EUROSTUDENT student surveys. These surveys gather comparable data on the social and economic conditions of student life across 25+ European countries. The series aims to enhance the understanding of student life and higher education systems within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
Why Submit?
Publishing your work in this series provides valuable feedback from experts familiar with EUROSTUDENT data and the European higher education context. Accepted papers benefit from dissemination through the EUROSTUDENT network, reaching national research teams, academic and policy channels, and international platforms. It is a great opportunity for researchers at all career stages to contribute to the understanding of comparative higher education, socioeconomic factors affecting students, and evidence-informed policy.
Scope of Submissions
The series encourages submissions that utilize the comparative potential of EUROSTUDENT microdata, such as cross-country or group comparisons, and analyses based on individual-level data. Submissions can also introduce new theoretical frameworks or methodologies to EUROSTUDENT data, descriptive analyses generating new insights, and single-country perspectives within a broader context.
Submission Guidelines
Manuscripts should be original, written in English, and submitted as a Word document to eurostudent@dzhw.eu, including a title and a structured abstract (max. 300 words). Papers should typically be 5,000 to 8,000 words in length, using APA citation style.
Review and Publication
Submissions are reviewed by the editorial team to ensure clarity, relevance, and scholarly quality. Accepted papers will be assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) and published under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, promoting broad reuse with appropriate attribution.
